Ritual for the Gemini Full Moon

Posted by Sharron Basanti on

The upcoming Gemini Full Moon on Wednesday, December 7th at 8:07 pm (PST) will be the last one of the year and soon you'll be stepping into a NEW YEAR!!! With that said the Gemini Full Moon is potent for clearing clutter. . .especially all the unproductive chaos that might be whirling around in your head, as the zodiac sign of Gemini is associated with the Element of Air, which rules the mind. . .and also represents the sacred duality of the SACRED Masculine and the Divine Feminine, which is symbolized in The Lovers card from the Tarot, which is ruled by Gemini!

The ritual for the Full Moon in Gemini invites you to wander into your inner cave and reflect on the last year, so you can ring in 2023 on your terms. You can start your closing ceremony for 2022 a bit early, especially if your soul needs more time to process all the expansion, chaos, and growth that has happened over the last 12 months. Allow December to be a liminal space for you!

You may or may not feel a sense of gratefulness for all that has transpired during the year. Holding sacred space for yourself to process the events of the past year will bring you closer to your TRUTH and allow you to receive the blessings of the upcoming year. The closing ceremony is not complex and isn't ritual intensive either because simplicity is magick, especially when you are digging deep into your inner world. You are welcome to adapt and change the closing ceremony as you see fit, so that the process feels right for you.

The Ritual

You may find reflecting in a cluttered or messy space difficult, as the energy might be distracting. Do a 360 of your space and find a corner of your home in which you can be a HERMIT without any interruptions. Gather your spiritual tools: crystals, incense, candles, journal, and don't forget to bring a Tarot or Oracle deck with you! You may also want to sit on a meditation cushion or wrap yourself up in a blanket as you dig deep. Lastly, you may find sitting on the floor grounding, as your Root Chakra is able to directly connect with the Element of Earth.

Arrange your spiritual tools on a table or on the floor until the energy feels right. Next, take a deep breath in through your nose, hold that breath for has long as you can comfortably, and then release the air through your mouth. Take as many deep breaths as you need to until your body feels completely relaxed. Next, light your incense or do whatever you use to cleanse yourself and your scared space. I try to open the windows after I've cleansed to allow the released energy to escape from my space.

Light a candle or maybe two. Black and white candles are ideal to honour the duality of Gemini. As light the candle(s), feel your sacred flame ignite within and connect to your Higher-SELF. Take all the time you need until you feel connected. Next, close your eyes and focus on your breath to root yourself to the present moment then begin your reflection with the first month of 2022: January. For each month, reflect on what occurred, lessons learned, and more importantly don't forget to celebrate your WINS! Afterwards, try journaling about your time in your inner cave, as writing is cathartic and will assist with releasing raw emotions & feelings that you've buried deep, deep, deep within!

When you feel centered again, shuffle your Tarot or Oracle deck for the spread: Closing the Year. Select each card with intention by repeating the question below before you draw one. Lay the cards intuitively, as there are no positions assigned.

  • Card 1: What vibrations did I send out into the Universe in 2022?
  • Card 2: What blessings have I received over the last 12 months?
  • Card 3: What struggles do I need to release from the past year?
  • Card 4: What lessons should I carry forward with me into 2023?
  • Card 5: How did my mind, body, and soul expand and grow in 2022?
  • Card 6: Message from the ANCESTORS to bring 2022 to a close with a grateful heart.

If you use the Seeds of Shakti Oracle for your Closing the Year spread, I highly recommend selecting the cards with the white backs for positions 1, 3, 5 and black for 2, 4, 6. Why? The white backs denote the DIVINE Masculine and all you have projected into the Universe over the past 12 months. The black backs represent the SACRED Feminine and all you have received from the Universe in the last year. Close the ceremony by sitting in deep gratitude for the past year and also decade by acknowledging the lessons and blessings, and snuff the candle(s) out when you are done.

Alternatively, you could use two decks. Choose one that connects to the DIVINE Masculine and another one for the SACRED Feminine. The act of you laying the cards integrates these two dualities within you, as you are weaving the medicine of each to create WHOLENESS, which is what Gemini is all about!!!

  • Hi Lisa,

The graphic contains the spread for the Gemini Full Full. The questions in the body of the post are part of the ritual. I hope that helps!

  • The questions for each card listed in the body of this post are entirely different from those that appear on the graphic. I’m so confused.
