Sacred Ritual for the Full Moon in Pisces

Posted by Sharron Basanti on

Not sure about you, but my soul is yearning for the soothing watery energy of the Full Moon in Pisces on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at 2:59 am (PDT). I am not an astrology expert, but I do like to dabble here and there . . . and what I know from personal experience is that Pisces has a dreamy energy that is intuitive, emotional, and in many regards psychedelic.

For the Pisces Full Moon, I feel drawn to sharing a water cleansing ritual to help release illusions, stagnate energy, and low vibrating emotions. I find that a water cleanse is ideal for Pisces, which is a highly-sensitive water sign. Also, cleansing with water is different than with smoke, as the release is on more of a subconscious level.

You can do your ritual a day before, on the day, or a day after the Full Moon, as the energy is still potent. You are welcome to use my ritual or adopt parts to help you create your personalized one. Please know that you don’t need to do a ritual for each Full Moon, only connect to the ones that you feel drawn to. Your ritual doesn’t need to be complicated. Can be simple as lighting a candle.

As with any ritual, create sacred space for yourself to connect with your Higher-SELF. Depending on your Full Moon traditions, you may want to light a candle, make a circle, ring a bell; call in the elements, directions + guides, etc. . . I personally don’t adhere to any rules or guidelines of how to create sacred space. I follow what rises up for me in my heart space, as the energy of each Full Moon is unique, and I want my ritual to reflect where I am vibrationally.

If you take a glance around your home, you will find sacred tools that connect with the energy of the Pisces Full Moon. The secret to creating an altar is to only use sacred tools that connect with you and hold a magical purpose in your ritual. I added The Moon card from the Tarot to my altar, as it is associated with the astrological sign of Pisces.

The Ritual

To start the ritual, I usually begin by fill a singing bowl with water that I’ve preferably captured from the last rainfall (not typically hard to do on the west coast of Canada), but there has been no rain lately, so water from a natural source such as the ocean, river or lake is fine too. You can also use tap water, which is what I did!

I ring the singing bowl to infuse the water with its beautiful vibrations. Alternatively, you can place the water in a regular bowl and play a drum, rattle, bell or any other musical instrument. When I feel in my heart space that the water has been charged, I take a few sprigs of fresh sage from my garden and dip them in the water. You can replace sage with a cedar branch or another herb that resonates with you! I’ve used rosemary for the water cleanse in the past.

I gently move the sprigs of sage around my aura starting at my Crown Chakra then slowly move down until I reach my Root Chakra. As I cleanse, the water droplets from the sage fall onto my skin and help to purify my mind, body & soul. You can also call on a Goddess or another deity connected to the element of water and/or moon for the ritual.

To delve deep into the questions that the Full Moon in Pisces conjures up, you may want to lay Tarot or Oracle cards. You can use the Pisces Full Moon Spread and explore the themes further. Please tag me in your spread on Instagram, as I’d love to know how you connected!

Namaste,
Sharron
